The Recording Studio 3D Scene Gallery

I have built this recording studio to be used in many of my musical videos I plan on shooting.  This was my first scene in Poser.  I made all the props in the scene.  The character is Simon who is an "out of the box" Poser figure.

I am especially proud of the drums and piano.  This has taken a couple of months of work, but, I think it turned out pretty good for a first effort.  The pictures I took of the studio are mostly raw images.  I did fool around a little with lighting in some of the shots, but, this is initial batch of pictures are just being put on the site to give everybody a first look.  I will be taking more photos and spending quite a bit more time getting the lights just right and improving on camera angles in the future.  These scenes were shot in low light simulating late afternoon or early evening.

Also I will be adding my own characters as band members and technicians.  Also some landscaping will be added.  Then I will shoot the video.  Look for it sometime later this summer.

The studio was built using a 3D architecture package.  It has 3 rooms.  A reception area, a control room and the studio itself.  A long hallway connects the rooms.

Simon with an attitude standing near the front door.

Looking down the hallway.  I have a Beatle's collage poster, a couch and some equipment cases stacked in the hall way.  At the end of the hall way is the back door.

This is looking back up the hallway.  I tried fooling around with the lighting in this picture.  Notice how the bay windows shine into the picture now and the doorway into the control room is lit.

This is the front area.  It has office chars and a desk I made.  It has 3 posters of the Rolling Stones, Jim Morrison and Jimi Hendrix.  The main desk has two computer screens.

Another shot of the front area.

I put a sign for Rough Cuts on the front of the desk since the studio is going to be called Rough Cuts.

The front desk is next to a window which looks into the control room.  The control room also has a window, so you can see from the front room all the way to the music studio.

This is in the control room.  I made a lot of amplifiers and studio equipment.  This was done by taking pictures off of the Internet of the front and back of studio equipment and then mapping them onto meshes.  Also, notice the monitors on the wall.

The control room has two office chairs, a control board and a PC as well.

Another shot of the control room looking into the music studio.

This is from within the music studio looking into the control room.  Notice the Yellow submarine painting in the control room.  The music studio has neon signs on the wall.  These were interesting to make as I learned all about ambient lighting techniques.  The congas and bongos are next to a floor monitor.  There are two monitors on stands.  There is a B-3 organ on the left with a microphone.  On the organ is a tray with a coke, bottle of rum and a mixed drink.  You can also see the drums on the right and the bass guitar leaning against the amp next to the stool for the bass guitar player on the left.

Fooling around with the lighting again to get a more dramatic view.

This is from the view of the organ player.  The drums were not to hard to make, but, very tedious because of all the pieces.  Notice the cola can in the foreground and the Fosters sign in the background.  The wallpaper on two of the walls is a universe wallpaper I found on-line and on the third wall it is a tie-dyed design.

This is the isolation booth in the corner of the studio.  You can't see it very well, but, inside it has a stool, microphone and headphones.  A lead guitar I am very proud of leans against the wall of the booth.

This is an overexposed picture of the grand piano.  It looks much better than this normally.  I just wanted to have it fairly bright in this picture so that you can see the details of the pedals, mike stand and legs.

Here are my flame drums.  Looking good.

View from the conga players perspective.

View from the drummer.

More dramatic view from the drummer.  I have a Martin D-18 and a Fender Bass next to the Fender Bassman Amp and the Fender Twin Reverb Amp on the floor.  The Martin guitar is in a guitar stand I made.  The Fender Bass is just leaning against the amp.

Even more dramatic picture from the drummer's throne.

This picture shows how it would look from the piano players view.

Another shot with it lighter.  Notice the Resonator Guitar also in the stand.

One more shot.

And one last one.
